Liverpool ONE Unveils Fun-Filled Summer Plans
The return of the much-loved Tickle the Ivories, non-stop family entertainment and the chance to win a luxury holiday to the Maldives are in store for visitors to Liverpool ONE as its summer schedule is announced.
As the summer holidays fast approach, the retail and leisure destination has unveiled its line-up for the next two months, promising a string of must-do activities and events to keep the whole family entertained.
For the first time, Liverpool ONE has partnered with travel agent Kuoni to mark its new store opening on Paradise Street, offering the chance to win a holiday of a lifetime to the Maldives.
The competition, which officially launched on 3 July, will see one lucky winner scoop a sunshine break for two to the award-winning Kurumba Maldives suitable for guests of all ages whether they are looking for laidback, romantic or an adventurous getaway. Find out how to enter the competition here.
Jane Griffiths, Store Manager of Kuoni Liverpool, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Liverpool ONE’s summer campaign and giving away a holiday to one of our favourite destinations, the stunning Maldives, as we celebrate the opening of our brand-new store in the aptly named Paradise Street at Liverpool ONE. We are looking forward to helping the winner and all visitors create memories of a lifetime.”
Next in the round-up of summer fun is the return of the ever-popular Tickle the Ivories, which will see five pianos located across Liverpool ONE from 7 July.
The 10-week long festival, which runs until 10 September, is back once again to give budding talent and professional musicians the opportunity to showcase their skills on the keys.
From pop to dance to classical music, the event has become a staple in Liverpool ONE’s calendar and has helped highlight local talent since its launch 13 years ago.
The free-to-use pianos will be located at five locations, which are: the bottom of Sugar House Steps by John Lewis & Partners, South John Street, Peter’s Square, College Lane and The Galleria by the entrance of ODEON.
Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be celebrating Kuoni’s new store with this amazing competition and it feels the perfect way to mark the arrival of summer.
“Every year, we try to make the season bigger and better than the last, giving our visitors a real mix of events and an opportunity to explore the different ways they can enjoy our estate.
“Tickle the Ivories is always a massive success and, after its brief pop-up return during Eurovision, we know that there will be lots more people eager to get involved when the pianos return in the next couple of weeks.”
Also returning of its third year this summer is ChessFest, which will take place on 16 July. Part of Chess in Schools and Communities national programme, the event will bring free activities for all the family at Chavasse Park to bring chess to a wider audience and showcase its inclusivity.
Continuing the packed calendar is Sketching Day, which will take place later this summer, giving artists, both professional and amateurs the chance to join in at the free outdoor sketching and painting takeover at Liverpool ONE working with Liver Sketching Club.
Another much-expected return is the First Five Festival which will take over Chavasse Park for one day in August, a perfect opportunity for families with little ones to have a fun day while exploring services available in their area.
Donna added: “We’re incredibly excited to kick off our summer of activities at Liverpool ONE, especially as we are working closely with even more community and cultural groups who are becoming a regular spotlight of our summer campaign.
“Whether it’s coming along to one of our many events throughout the summer, simply relaxing on Chavasse Park, enjoying a bite to eat or shopping your favourite brands, we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to Liverpool ONE to soak up the summer with us.”
