US Freak-Folk Outfit Scuttlebuggs To Play The Jacaranda With Support From Pleasure Island & Austerity Dogs

Scuttlebuggs will headline The Jacaranda on Wednesday 17 August.

Scuttlebuggs is an indie rock/freak-folk band originally based out of Chicago and now living on the open road. Their original songs are focused on lyrical content, unique melodies and harmony and have been likened to Neil Young, Yo La Tengo and Big Thief. They’ve toured extensively around the US and Japan and are traveling their new tunes to Europe in August of 2022. Check them out via Spotify.

They’ve released one album, three EPs and two singles to date – music videos for their newest singles were picked up for worldwide network premieres on DittyTV and the music has received radio play on indie stations across the globe. SBuggs are currently preparing their next full length album for release this summer as well as working on a follow up LP. The lyrics have been described as “genius, they serve as a punch in the stomach through their pensive penning through a style Nick Cave would even approve of.” [A&R Factory] The music has also been reviewed as “raw”, “edgy”, “beautiful” and “positively life-affirming”. Pleasure Island come to you via Liverpool’s eclectic Smithdown Road scene, having made their own mark on 2021, with their followup single “Priory”. The song has turned heads across radio land, earning coveted spins from Jim Gelatly (Amazing Radio) and a top 5 pick from Fresh on The Net’s Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6). Making the most of the ability to move freely outdoors, the two piece art rockers have capitalised on the track’s success with a string of packed out shows and stellar support slots up and down the UK. Stream Pleasure Island via Spotify now.

Hemming from North Liverpool, Austerity Dogs are to spoken word an abrasive force to be reckoned. Angry yet humorous, the mix of Lachlan’s producing and Jono’s poems will leave you wanting more, angrier or otherwise.

Tickets for Scuttlebuggs + Pleasure Island & Austerity Dogs are available via Eventbrite.
