5 Bars In Liverpool Perfect For Dry January
Dry January is the UK’s one-month alcohol-free challenge, created by Alcohol Change UK, in 2013. Many people take on the challenge to save money and improve health following Christmas and New Year festivities and it’s becoming more and more popular every year. Going dry this January, however, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on socialising. From mocktails and no-alcohol beers, to spirit substitutes, we’ve got you covered so you can party without the hangover.
Be at One
Be at One’s Character Without Compromise menu offers low and no alcohol mocktails, with clear labelling as to which ones are alcohol free. With seven amazing mocktails to choose from, including the fruity Reformed Pornstar, you can enjoy a sober night without compromising on taste.
Brewdog
Located on Colquitt Street, Brewdog offers five alcohol-free beers, perfect for any beer lover taking part in Dry January. Punk AF, Elvis AF, Hazy AF, Lost AF and Nanny State will have you sipping with the boys and not missing out. Get free refills of alcohol free draught beers for the whole month and check out their January food offers too.
Dash
Dash, on Victoria Street, offers alcohol-free cocktails and alcohol-free beers. We were very pleased to find out that rather than ‘mocktails’ which are often juice or soft drink based, some of Dash’s alcohol-free cocktails contain Seedlip, an alternative to gin. Spirit alternatives help to give that authentic cocktail taste and Seedlip have different flavours, guaranteed to impress.
The Florist
Beautiful cocktail bar, The Florist, has two alcohol-free beers and two alcohol-free cocktails; Watermelon Dreams and Rhubarb in Bloom. Although limited, The Florist is a sensory experience and perfect for special occasions and great Instagram photos, so you can have a sober girl’s night out or birthday celebration in style.
Spanish Caravan
Spanish Caravan is our favourite option, as the menu states every cocktail can be made alcohol free. With most bars and restaurants offering limited mocktail options, Spanish Caravan’s idea is excellent, allowing you to have the same drinks as friends and not feel like you’re missing out. The mocktails look and taste very similar to the original drinks and you simply ask for the alcohol-free version.
