The Rock Orchestra is returning to the city this autumn, bringing its brand-new Arena of Fire show to M&S Bank Arena Liverpool on Friday 2 October 2026.
Following back-to-back tours across the UK and USA, the rotating collective of classical musicians and vocalists is going bigger with its latest production – transforming legendary tracks from the worlds of rock and metal into a dramatic 90-minute live spectacle.
And this isn’t your typical orchestra concert.
Rock & Metal – But Not As You Know It
The idea behind The Rock Orchestra is brilliantly simple: take instantly recognisable rock and metal songs and completely reimagine them through classical instrumentation.
Expect music associated with Metallica, AC/DC, Linkin Park, Guns N’ Roses, System Of A Down, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Pantera, The Rolling Stones, Papa Roach and The Cranberries, among others.
Rather than simply recreating the originals, the 14 musicians bring their own cinematic scale and intensity to the music, combining strings and other classical instrumentation with powerful vocals and arena-sized production.
The result sits somewhere between a rock gig, classical concert and theatrical spectacular.
And Then There’s The Fire…
As the name Arena of Fire suggests, the new production isn’t holding back when it comes to the visuals either. Alongside the musicians, audiences can expect pyrotechnics, fire performers and dramatic stage effects, creating a suitably explosive backdrop to some of rock and metal’s biggest anthems.
