Junkyard Golf Liverpool To Become UK’s First Junkyard Social Club
Junkyard Golf Club is teeing up its next big move, with its Liverpool venue set to become the UK’s first Junkyard Social Club this October – as the brand proves it is playing a much longer game than eighteen holes.
Since first opening its doors in Liverpool ONE back in 2019, Junkyard has welcomed hundreds of thousands of players, clocking up over 700,000 games and more than 20 million golf balls hit – proper numbers for a proper night out. Now, seven years in, it’s ready for the next round.
The transformation will turn the venue – known as “crazy golf and a house party rolled into one” – into Junkyard’s first all-night social space, packed with live music and a host of new games for Scousers to get stuck into. Whether it’s an all-day-to-nighter with mates or just popping in for a pint and some friendly competition, Junkyard Social Club has got it covered
There will be a new stage for live music – the perfect spot for a post-game debrief pint, or a dance to some of the city’s best local talent – plus the chance to grab the mic for a spot of “bandaoke”, singing on stage with a live band, for the bravest (or tipsiest) in the crowd. The bar will also see a dive-bar makeover too, with pool tables and interactive darts boards ready to book ahead or just walk up and play.
From stateside to Scouseland, a brand-new corn hole area is joining the lineup – a classic American backyard game perfect for guests bunkered down waiting on a booking, or to have a go at slinging a bean-bag or two after a couple of drinks.
And the ever-popular ‘Gary’ course is saying “ta-ra” for now, making way for a brand-new course in the new year. Regulars have until then to swing by and pay their respects but don’t worry – the interactive slide and UV rave room aren’t going anywhere, just relocating to another course so guests can still slide and rave, even without ‘r Gary.
For groups who think they’re the modern-day Beatles, two full UV karaoke rooms will also join the existing disco bathroom-themed karaoke booth. Plus, a new bookable area will bring together interactive darts, arcade classics including Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero and Street Fighter, plus a pool table – giving guests even more ways to make a night of it.
Sam Jones, Managing Director at Junkyard, said: “We’ve been working towards Junkyard Social Club across the brand for a while now, and we knew Liverpool was the place we wanted to bring it to life first. Liverpool is a party city, and after seven years here, it felt right to treat them to the new concept first.
We’re giving people even more ways to spend a night out with us – whether that’s playing games, grabbing a drink, singing karaoke, catching some live music or just hanging out. We’ve got loads planned for the new space and can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve done with it.”
Junkyard Golf is open at ONE, 1 Paradise St, Liverpool L1 8JF – with Junkyard Social Club set to open its doors at the end of October.
