Henry the Hoover’s 45th Birthday Tour Heads to Liverpool ONE with Bongo’s Bingo Show

One of the UK’s most recognisable household names is heading to Liverpool this half term as Henry the Hoover celebrates his 45th birthday with a nationwide tour packed with free family entertainment.

The iconic smiling vacuum cleaner will arrive at Liverpool ONE on Wednesday 27 May as part of a six-city UK tour aboard a custom-built double-decker party bus.

Stopping at Paradise Place outside John Lewis from 10am to 4pm, the free event promises games, activities, exclusive Henry merchandise and family-friendly entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Adding a distinctly Liverpool flavour to the celebrations, Bongo’s Bingo will host a special live show from 12.30pm until 2.30pm, featuring music, dancing and prizes as Henry takes centre stage in what organisers are calling “epic half term fun”.

Jonny Bongo said: “When we heard Henry was planning a tour to celebrate turning 45 years young we just knew we had to be involved – and especially here on home turf in Liverpool, where Bongo’s Bingo started.

“We all absolutely adore Henry! He’s the most popular prize we have and the crowds chant his name at our shows everywhere. So for this special visit – and who knows, maybe there will even be some special prizes – we can’t wait to welcome the Henry party bus to Liverpool and give everyone some family-friendly Bongo’s Bingo magic in the afternoon.”

Henry has become a British household staple over the past four decades, with more than 20 million vacuums produced and the brand now found in around one in four UK homes.

Manufactured in Chard, Somerset, the company recently completed a £70 million factory expansion and says its newly installed solar farm now generates enough electricity to produce around 500,000 Henry vacuums every year.

Liverpool is the fourth stop on the birthday tour, which also visits Bristol, London, Birmingham, Manchester and the Royal Bath & West Show during the May half term week.
