Liverpool FC Launches New Mighty Red and Red Ted Teddies in Sustainability Collaboration
Liverpool FC has expanded its collaboration with carbon capture company 1PointFive with the launch of two new products for Reds supporters – a new and improved Mighty Red teddy and the brand-new Red Ted.
The new arrivals build on the partnership between LFC and US-based carbon capture, utilisation and sequestration company 1PointFive, following the launch of a world-first commemorative jersey in 2025 marking 20 years since Liverpool’s famous ‘Miracle of Istanbul’.
This time, the collaboration is turning its attention to two cuddly additions to the club’s growing range of gifts and collectibles.
The updated Mighty Red teddy is joined by Red Ted, a brand-new addition to Liverpool FC’s retail collection. As part of the collaboration, the carbon footprint of both products will be addressed using 1PointFive’s Direct Air Capture technology.
According to the club, carbon dioxide will be removed from the atmosphere in an amount equal to the emissions generated through manufacturing each product up to the point of sale.
The initiative forms part of Liverpool FC’s wider sustainability programme, The Red Way, which looks at how the club can reduce its environmental impact while exploring new approaches across its operations.
Lee Dwerryhouse, Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Liverpool FC, said: “We’re proud to build on our collaboration with 1PointFive through the launch of Mighty Red Teddy and Red Ted, following the success of last year’s pioneering commemorative jersey.
“As our retail offering continues to expand beyond kit, with a growing range of lifestyle products, accessories and collectables, partnerships like this allow us to create products that resonate with fans, strengthen their connection with LFC and support our wider commitment to exploring innovative and more sustainable retail opportunities.”
Anthony Cottone, President and General Manager at 1PointFive, said the collaboration demonstrates how Direct Air Capture can be incorporated into consumer products while supporting wider sustainability targets.
He said: “We’re proud to work alongside Liverpool FC as they continue to raise the bar for how organizations can empower fans to be part of the sustainability solution.”
The launch comes as Liverpool FC continues to grow its retail offering beyond traditional replica shirts and training wear, with an expanding collection of apparel, gifts, accessories, lifestyle products and collectibles.
The club now operates more standalone retail stores than any other club or franchise in world sport and has also recently launched a new ecommerce platform.
The LFC x 1PointFive teddies are available to purchase now online and in official LFC retail stores.
