steel. Ignite the Post-Punk Scene with Explosive New Single ‘DFTTM’

The Liverpool trio, steel. offer a post punk vibe charged with spirited vocals throughout their new single DFTTM.

They are absolutely no exception to the new wave of talent emerging in the city. The band was formed in 2023 and since then, they have made successful efforts to carve their way into the music scene. The triad are inspired by alternative bands like Pixies, Sonic Youth and Velvet Underground.

Opening with a burst of explosive drums and driving guitars, the song wastes no time setting its pace. The instrumental dynamic establishes a sense of intensity and momentum. The single is consistently powerful and passionate throughout, the lyrics emphasise a transformed perspective “Before I had a sense of doubt, before I knew that bad people existed” adding depth to the track’s relentless ferocity.

The guitar riffs, drum beats and the energetic voice of their female lead blend effortlessly to create this captivating track. Subtly shifting the mood and tempo, the anthem stays engaging and unpredictable whilst maintaining its fierce rhythm. Despite its pace, there are multiple layers of raw emotion which support the single’s restless urgency.

DFTTM certainly secures steel. a place as up-and-coming stars on the post-punk scene. The track was released on 25 April following a build-up of anticipation from fans.
