In Conversation: Five Talk About Their Autumn Tour, ’90s Nostalgia And Who’s Got The Best Dance Moves

Get ready to party like it’s the 90s — Five are back and hitting the road this autumn with their Keep On Movin’ tour. The multi-platinum boyband, known for iconic hits like Everybody Get Up, If Ya Gettin’ Down and of course Keep On Movin’, are bringing the energy to stages across the UK, including two massive shows in Liverpool. We caught up with the lads to talk tour life, ’90s nostalgia, surprise setlist moments, and who’d survive the longest on a desert island (spoiler: it gets intense).

How does it feel to be back together on stage after all these years?

Ritchie: We are absolutely buzzing to be back on stage.
J: Buzzing our proverbial rocks off!
Scott: We honestly can’t believe it’s been this long. It should’ve happened sooner… but maybe it happened at exactly the right time.
Ritchie: Yeah, it makes it more special this way.
Scott: What should’ve happened sooner is just being in the same room again—having a drink, catching up. But now we’ve got that, and we’ve got this. We’re genuinely overwhelmed. We didn’t know if people would still care, but they really do. We feel truly blessed.

If you had to perform just one Five song for the rest of your lives, which would it be—and why?

Abz: I think I’d choose something we don’t usually do.
Scott: For me, it’s got to be Keep On Movin’. It brings everyone together. It’s uplifting.
Ritchie: I’d go with Everybody Get Up. That one’s just so full of energy.

What’s one thing you miss most about the ’90s music scene?

J: The ’90s were just banging. So much uplifting, feel-good music—it was a special time.
Sean: I miss the analogue desks in studios. There was a lot more of that.
J: And all genres were strong back then—rock, pop, grunge, dance…
Ritchie: Hip hop too! Everything was exploding at the same time.
Sean: Music was a bit more judgmental back then though. Now, people are more open. Pop’s just pop—it’s music. And that’s a good thing.

Five Tour 2025

Are there any surprises in the tour setlist—maybe unreleased tracks or unexpected covers?

J: Well, if we told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise, would it?
Sean: There’s a hidden track from the Invincible album called Inspector Gadget. Not sure if fans actually want us to sing it though!
Scott: I’ve spoken to fans—they definitely do!

Who’s still got the best dance moves… and who might need a little more practice?

Sean: Abz is a natural.
Ritchie: When you see Abz dance, seriously…
Scott: There’s no stopping him!
Abz: That’s a lie—I need the most help.
Scott & Sean: No you don’t!
Sean: You’ll be helping us!

Who would survive the longest on a desert island… and who’s eating all the rations on day one?

Scott: Rich would eat the rations first!
Ritchie: But I’d also survive the longest.
J: No way—you’re not out-surviving me!
Ritchie: I’ve done survival courses. I spent a weekend in the Brecon Beacons!
J: I’m a natural born survivor, alright?
Scott: But Ritchie gets hangry. Quickly.
Ritchie: That’s exactly what would make me survive—I’d be out hunting straight away because I’d need food now!
J: Me and you would last the longest… then I’d hatchet you in the back of the skull and eat you.
Sean: Lord of the Fives!

If Five could collaborate with any current artist, who would be top of the list?

Ritchie: Teddy Swims.
Sean: Ed Sheeran or Adele—or both together!

Don’t miss your favourite 90s boyband on tour this Autumn!
