Midnight Curfew’s Latest Single ‘Stay Late’ Is An After Hours Anthem

Hot on the Liverpool music scene, local four-piece Midnight Curfew are here to cement themselves into the industry with brand new single Stay Late.

After bringing us two previously released tracks in 2023 entitled I’m Falling Back In Love (with You) and Hung Up we saw two different sides to the band musically. Varying from pop rock to a more chilled low-fi indie feel you can really start to see them experimenting and exploring with the sound they want to call their own.

Consisting of Monty Havers (lead guitar), Joe Greenwood (drums), Leonie Collins (Bass) and Rhys Evan (Guitar and vocals). Showing endless promise and excitement for what’s to come, the band’s new single is a powerhouse. Once again exploring a slightly different sound to previous tracks with bit more of an indie feel to Stay Late whilst still paying homage to what they have already created.

Just seconds into the track my attention is grabbed by a rather head turning melody, taking my complete focus and attention to take it all in and allow myself to be transported to a musical whirlwind. Providing a catchy melody with a heavy guitar presence instantly had my foot tapping along and I found myself deeply engaged in where it was going to next.

Hearing the steady drum beat throughout the song uplifts all the other elements and gives overall such a seamless blending of the track. Sharing the meaning behind their song which I feel one too many of the younger generation knows all too well. It’s that feeling of being out with your friends in some dingy club as the decline of a relationship unfolds, maybe seeing someone you used to love, doing something you really wish you hadn’t had to see and the aftermath that follows. However, as doom and gloom as that makes it sound, I’m sure, I can assure you it’s rather upbeat and one that is destined to thrive in front of a live audience.

Working so hard together to promote themselves, playing headline shows and working on new music, the band is set to really thrive. Showing so much potential and love for what they do there’s no ignoring the capability the group has at drawing a room’s attention.

I hope for even greater success within their future releases. Listen now on streaming platforms Midnight Curfew – Spotify and follow the band for all updates on their future shows and releases via Instagram  and TikTok.
