Liverpool Nightlife Icon OMG To Reopen As Campus This Summer

One of Liverpool’s most recognisable nightlife venues is set to begin an exciting new chapter after being taken over by Amy Gwynn, the owner behind the city’s iconic GBar.

The much-loved OMG venue will reopen this summer as Campus, a vibrant new LGBTQ+ friendly nightlife destination inspired by the unforgettable energy of house parties, kitchen discos and nights that turn strangers into lifelong friends.

Launching in time for Liverpool Pride, Campus promises an opening weekend packed with incredible entertainment, resident DJs, drag performances and special guest appearances as the city comes together to celebrate one of the biggest weekends in Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ calendar.

Having successfully taken over GBar and continued its reign as one of Liverpool’s longest-standing and most celebrated LGBTQ+ venues, Amy saw an opportunity to invest further in the city’s thriving nightlife by reimagining OMG into an entirely new concept.

Rather than replicating the GBar experience, Campus has been created to complement it, offering something fresh, immersive and unlike anything else currently found in Liverpool.

Built around the mantra ‘You Belong Here’, Campus has been designed as an inclusive nightlife experience where individuality is celebrated, everyone is welcome and every night feels like the best house party you’ve ever been invited to.

Spanning two floors, the venue has been completely reimagined, with each space bringing the Campus story to life.

Downstairs, The Kitchen captures the unmistakable atmosphere of every great house party, where the music is loud, everyone gathers and the dancefloor never stops. Soundtracked by pop classics, guilty pleasures and nostalgic anthems, it has been designed as the heart of the venue.

Upstairs, The Living Room offers a more relaxed setting where guests can grab a drink, catch up with friends, sing along to iconic hits and soak up the atmosphere.

Throughout the venue, playful nods to campus life feature at every turn. Guests are invited to enrol in a world where attendance is encouraged, homework doesn’t exist, graduation is never required and drag queens are the professors leading the lesson.

While Campus introduces a bold new identity, the venue will continue to celebrate the performers who have helped make OMG so popular over the years. Its much-loved resident queens will remain at the heart of the entertainment programme, joined by resident DJs, themed events and exciting new experiences throughout the week.

Andy Locker, DJ and Club Promoter for Campus, explained: “Campus is about bringing people together and reminding everyone why they fell in love with going out in the first place. We’ve created a venue that’s playful, nostalgic and full of personality, where every room tells a story and everyone is made to feel welcome.

“Everyone remembers those nights where the party somehow always ended up in the kitchen, every song was one you knew and complete strangers became your best friends for the evening. That’s the feeling we’ve built Campus around.

“Amy has been at the heart of Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ nightlife for some years now, and Campus is an exciting opportunity to build on that experience with something completely new. Launching in time for Liverpool Pride makes it even more special, and we’re putting together an incredible line-up of entertainment to make opening weekend one to remember. We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors and show them what Campus is all about.”

Campus will officially open this summer, with a spectacular Pride launch weekend celebrating music, drag, DJs and everything that makes Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ community so vibrant.

Further announcements, including the full entertainment line-up and opening celebrations, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
