Sefton Park Hotel Announces £250,000 Refurbishment of Historic Victorian Villa
One of Liverpool’s most charming hidden gems, The Sefton Park Hotel, has announced a further £250,000 refurbishment of its elegant 16-bedroom boutique hotel, housed within a stunning Victorian villa overlooking Sefton Park. The transformation, set for completion by Spring 2026, promises to fuse modern luxury with the building’s timeless heritage.
The extensive upgrade includes new bathrooms, lighting, and furnishings across all rooms, with meticulous care taken to preserve the villa’s original period details. Each redesigned bedroom will feature Victorian-style sanitaryware, marble tiles, brass fittings, and wood panelling, creating a luxurious “modern vintage” aesthetic that celebrates both comfort and character.
With four rooms already complete, guests can experience the new design direction — a sophisticated blend of contemporary elegance and historic charm. The renovation also extends to the hotel’s public areas, restaurant, and event spaces, enhancing its reputation as one of Liverpool’s most picturesque destinations.

Overlooking Sefton Park’s iconic boating lake, the hotel offers a stylish 30-seat restaurant, known for serving one of the city’s best Sunday roasts, with a new à la carte menu launching at the end of January. Guests can also enjoy the inviting bar area and expansive outdoor terrace, perfect for taking in panoramic park views.
The lower ground floor features a newly refurbished event suite and marquee, accommodating up to 120 seated guests or 200 for receptions — an ideal setting for weddings and celebrations. The hotel also includes a self-contained garden coach house, sleeping up to six guests, just a short ten-minute journey from Liverpool city centre.
Adding to its cultural significance, The Sefton Park Hotel was once the family home of Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bassist of The Beatles. The venue proudly displays a collection of photographs and memorabilia celebrating his life and artistic legacy.
Continuing to evolve while honouring its storied past, The Sefton Park Hotel remains a true Liverpool landmark — where heritage, luxury, and local charm meet in perfect harmony.
