Liverpool SEO Agency, Quirky Digital, Launches Student Internships to Tackle Digital Skills Gap

Award-winning Liverpool SEO agency Quirky Digital has launched a new internship programme for university students, offering real-world experience to help bridge the gap between education and employment in the growing fields of digital marketing and AI.

Led by Managing Director Liam Quirk, the agency has been working closely with the University of Liverpool to deliver SEO workshops that provide students with practical skills and industry insight. In March 2025, students were set a live challenge to audit one of the agency’s internal eCommerce websites, with the top team winning a three-month internship at Quirky Digital.

Winners Pragya Kapoor and Aashi Goyal impressed the agency with an audit and strategy that, according to Quirk, “would rival what some agencies are delivering.” The pair are now gaining hands-on experience working alongside Quirky Digital’s 18-person team on real client projects and internal case studies they can showcase on their CVs.

“Working with the next generation of SEO experts is incredibly rewarding,” said Quirk. “It’s been fantastic to help students gain knowledge, advice and genuine industry experience. We wanted to create something more impactful than the typical student placement—something that actually builds skills and adds value.”

Following the success of the initiative, Quirky Digital has committed to offering internships annually, collaborating with local universities to support more students looking to enter the digital sector.

Quirk added: “We’re proud to be in a position where we can nurture future talent while also enhancing the quality of digital marketing education across the region.”
