Grand National Excitement Builds
The Grand National is the most famous competition in jump racing and attracts a huge audience from around the world in April each year. Held at the prestigious Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, the race itself is unique in the horse racing world, as forty horses tackle huge fences over a distance of four miles.
The 2023 renewal will take place on Saturday 15 April, and the excitement is beginning to ramp up as the final handicap weights for the race have now been revealed, meaning that we now know which horses are likely to line up in the Aintree showpiece.
Grand National 2023
Since 1839, fans have been flocking to what is now a British institution, and 2023 will be no different with over 500,000 people set to tune in from around the globe.
The Grand National is a race that everyone and their dog likes to have a bet on, and twelve months ago those with a penchant for selecting horses with big odds were duly rewarded as Noble Yeats crossed the line in front at a price of 50/1.
The same horse will be back to defend his title in 2023, and it is no surprise that he is a much shorter 8/1 favourite this time around. Punters will once again be looking to take advantage of any expert advice and free horse racing tips before deciding whether to back the favourite or instead look for another potential big-priced winner.
Last year’s runner-up, Any Second Now, will be looking to go one better this year, whilst last year’s Cheltenham Festival winner, Corach Rambler, is another horse that is attracting interest from those searching for a possible winner.
For all the expert advice that is encountered, fans also have their own interesting ways of picking who to cheer on. These can include picking their favourite jockey colours, favourite number, or even their favourite name of horses in contention.
For 2023, horses such as Mr Incredible and The Big Dog, are sure to garner interest from the public. The only question is, can they live up to their very promising names?
Tiger Roll – The Grand National Legend
The list of recent winners of the prestigious race is dominated by one name, Tiger Roll. Tiger Roll captured the imagination of the public with his small stature and an undying will to win. To see a horse that was smaller than the fences themselves winning the prestigious race in 2018 was a sight to behold.
The fact that Tiger Roll returned twelve months later and became the first horse since the legendary Red Rum to win back-to-back renewals was even more special and fully cemented his place in Grand National folklore.
Not since the legendary Red Rum in 1974 had a horse successfully defended the Grand National…
Until Tiger Roll.

In 2023, Noble Yeats will be hoping to emulate his fellow Irish horse, and it would be a result that would be sure to bring the house down at Aintree’s packed racecourse. It would also, of course, lead to wild celebrations in Liverpool’s city centre, another part of the Grand National furore you won’t want to miss.
