Spooky Tales and Festive Adventures: Family Shows at Unity Theatre this Autumn & Winter

With the Half-Term Holidays fast-approaching – and the festive season beginning to make itself felt – there’s plenty of great, affordable family-friendly shows happening at Liverpool’s Unity Theatre over the next few months.

To mark Halloween season, Spooky Tales creeps into The Unity on 29 October with a devilishly delightful mix of puppetry, spine-tingling storytelling and ghoulish giggles. Perfect for brave children aged 9+ and their grown-ups, this one-hour show will have you gasping, gawping and grinning as Edward and Martha Creep tell their Spooky Tales.

Christmas comes early with RAWD’s To Be Near A Shooting Star in early December – a sparkly, twinkly, candy cane sweet story. Expect tinsel, triumphs and 3 not so wise kings, as RAWD present their version of a Christmas classic.

The jewel in the Unity’s festive crown comes in the form of Sleep Can Wait – a heart-warming, high-energy journey through myths, legends, and imagination – showing from 12th to 23rd December. This enchanting physical theatre show is packed with fun, laughter, and wonder – perfect for dreamers of all ages this winter season! With lots of physicality and minimal text, this show is family- and neurodiverse-friendly.

RAWD has spent over a decade co-creating joyful, inclusive spaces where disabled artists can thrive. RAWD are proudly Associate Company in Residence at Unity hosting weekly sessions that work towards theatre productions. This project is testing a collaborative model that merges performance and design, led by learning-disabled artists, and rooted in joy, agency and accessibility.
