Experienced North West auction agent Cathy has returned to Venmore Auctions, 38 years after starting her career with the business.
Having built a loyal client base during her first 20 years at Venmore, Cathy left to join a rival auction house as Auction Director. Now, after 18 years away, she is returning to the company where she first developed her passion for the industry.
Reflecting on her decision, Cathy said changes following the rival business’s acquisition by a high street corporate agent had prompted her to reconsider her future.
“After ten years the business was bought by one of the high street corporate agents,” she explained. “The last eight years the structure changed to become less personal with decisions being made by Head Office which didn’t always reflect the local market conditions.
“I was starting to lose the passion that I always had for the industry and decided to change course and return to where it all began.”
Her return has already brought a warm response from former clients, with Cathy looking forward to reconnecting with buyers and vendors.
“I am so excited to return to Venmore auctions, I’m loving the opportunity and I’m looking forward to spending the remainder of my career back where I fell in love with the industry,” she said.
“I’ve been overwhelmed already with the very positive response from all my past clients, it’s all very humbling.”
