Love Actually Live in Concert Comes to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall This Christmas

One of Britain’s best-loved Christmas films is coming to Liverpool this December, as Love Actually Live in Concert arrives at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Saturday 5 December 2026.

The festive favourite will be shown on the big screen in high definition, accompanied by a full live orchestra performing Craig Armstrong’s celebrated score in perfect synchronisation with the film.

It offers Liverpool audiences the chance to revisit Love Actually in a completely different way, combining the much-loved Christmas rom-com with the atmosphere of a live orchestral performance.

Written and directed by Richard Curtis, Love Actually follows a series of interwoven stories exploring love, friendship, family and heartbreak in London during the run-up to Christmas.

More than two decades after its original release in 2003, the film has become a fixture of the festive season, helped by a cast packed with some of the biggest names in British film.

Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Rowan Atkinson, Laura Linney and Martin Freeman are among the stars appearing in the film.

For the Liverpool performance, the movie will play in full while the orchestra brings its soundtrack to life inside the Philharmonic Hall – from Craig Armstrong’s original score to the musical moments that have become synonymous with the film.

The Liverpool date forms part of a major UK tour of Love Actually Live in Concert, presented by JOY. Concerts, taking the production to 14 venues across the country during November and December.

The tour begins at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on 30 November before visiting cities including Edinburgh, London, Bath, Liverpool, Swansea, Nottingham, Sheffield, York, Birmingham and Manchester. It concludes at Portsmouth Guildhall on 22 December.

Whether Love Actually is an annual Christmas tradition or you simply fancy a suitably festive night out in Liverpool, the live concert offers a chance to experience the film on a much bigger scale.
