Royal Albert Dock Liverpool Offers 600+ Free Kids Sports Sessions This Summer

Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is inviting young people to make the most of the summer holidays with the launch of Summer Pass, a programme of more than 600 free sports activity sessions taking place on weekdays from 17th to 28th August.

Designed for 12–16-year-olds, Summer Pass offers a range of one-hour sessions, including paddleboarding, supersized paddleboarding and kayaking on the dock’s historic waters, alongside a multi-skills sports zone at Dukes Dock on Gower Street featuring penalty practice, three-a-side football, cornhole and target practice.

The programme has been created to provide young people with free opportunities to stay active over the summer holidays, build confidence and spend time with friends. With 636 one-hour sessions available across the two-week programme, multiple activities can be booked throughout the holidays to help parents plan their summer schedules. Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience, all sessions are available to book via Eventbrite: eventbrite.co.uk/o/royal-albert-dock-liverpool. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Alongside the programme of activities, visitors can make the most of the dock with its cafés, restaurants and attractions offering places to refuel and spend time before or after sessions.

Parents and guardians can relax with a coffee at venues including Rubens, Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen, or Francie’s Focaccia & Coffee while waiting for their children. Families can also enjoy a relaxed lunch before or after sessions and take advantage of dockside dining deals. Savour three dishes and a drink for £15 in Rosa’s Thai, a lighter version of The Botanist’s famous kebabs for £8.95, or choose three tapas dishes for £17 at Lunyalita.

Sean Morrison, Estate Manager at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, said: “The summer holidays are a great time for young people to get outdoors and try something new. With activities taking place both on the water and on land, we’re making the most of everything the dock has to offer while providing free, accessible opportunities for young people to stay active, build confidence and enjoy their summer.”

From trying a new sport to enjoying time together on the waterfront, Summer Pass allows families to discover a different side of Royal Albert Dock this summer.
