Natalie McCool Returns With Euphoric Summer Anthem ‘I Fantasise’
Liverpool-based alt-pop artist Natalie McCool is back with a bang. Her brand new single I Fantasise, out now via Fortress Sounds, marks the start of a vibrant new era for the singer-songwriter and producer.
Following her critically acclaimed 2021 album Memory Girl, featuring standout tracks like Devils, Take Me To Your Leader, and the fan-inspired title track, Natalie returns with a bright, nostalgic banger just in time for summer.
Taking cues from legendary summer anthems like Summer of ’69 and Born in the USA, I Fantasise taps into the thrill of fleeting summer connections. It’s playful, cinematic, and packed with shimmering hooks.
“I wrote I Fantasise about a summer crush that reignites every year but always stays just out of reach,” Natalie says. “At the time I was obsessed with big retro-feeling tracks, and I wanted to create something that had that same feel—something that feels like a memory.”
And she’s done just that. From the soaring choruses to its glowing 80s pop textures, I Fantasise feels like a summer daydream you’ll want to have on repeat.

The track features guest vocals from rising Northern artist Ellysse Mason, who brings her unique charm and a TikTok following of over a million to the bridge section of the song.
“Our voices really complement each other,” Natalie adds. “I couldn’t be more excited that Ellysse is part of this track.”
Natalie not only wrote and performed the track, but also produced and mixed it herself, continuing to showcase her depth as a creative force in the industry.
Having already wowed crowds at SXSW, toured with The Wombats, and played the likes of Kendal Calling and Deer Shed Festival, Natalie’s summer schedule is heating up once again. Make sure you don’t miss her!
