Craft Beer Expo Returns To Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle This May

One of the UK’s most celebrated beer festivals is back in Liverpool this month, as Craft Beer Expo returns to the Baltic Triangle from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 May.

Now in its twelfth year, the event is the UK’s longest-running craft beer festival and a staple of the national beer calendar. Hosted by Black Lodge Brewery on Kings Dock Street, the Expo transforms the venue’s expansive indoor and outdoor spaces into a buzzing celebration of independent brewing, street food, and live music.

This year’s Expo features more than 30 breweries and hundreds of beers on tap, with styles ranging from crisp lagers and juicy IPAs to sours, stouts, and experimental creations. Breweries include local favourites and national standouts such as Neptune, Glen Affric, Colbier, Thornbridge, and Wylam.

Non-beer drinkers won’t be left out, with cider, gin cocktails, natural wine, and alcoholic ice cream also available across the weekend.

Paul Seiffert, co-founder of Black Lodge Brewery and the man behind the event, said: “We started the Expo back in 2013 to bring great beer to people in a way that felt down to earth and fun. It’s grown a lot, but it’s still got that same energy. We’ve always mixed well-known breweries with newer names and made it a genuinely enjoyable way to spend time with your mates, whether you’re into beer or just curious.”

There are four ticketed sessions across the weekend:

  • Thursday evening (5pm–11pm) – £13.50
  • Friday evening and Saturday (12pm–5pm & 6pm–11pm) – £15 each
  • Weekend tickets (all sessions) – £34.20

All tickets include the first beer and are available via craftbeerexpo.co.uk.

Festivalgoers can feast on a mouth-watering range of food from Fatback (smash burgers), El Polito (tacos), Dough Bros (Neapolitan pizza), Aunty’s Kitchen (Indian street food), Wong’s (dumplings), and Scooped (desserts).

The soundtrack for the weekend will feature live music from Liverpool artist Harry James and a full DJ line-up curated by Matsuri Records, known for their high-energy festival sets.

Paul added: “We don’t just want to put on a good beer event. We want to create a weekend people look forward to, where every detail matters — from the brewers to the soundtrack. The Baltic is where we started, and it still feels like home. We can’t wait for this year’s event.”
