Weekly Noise: Week #36

Weekly Noise is a short and straightforward way of sharing Liverpool’s trending news and topics in the form of a weekly poem. Laura Chonzi will take the top trending hashtags or stories on social media and turn them into a ten-line poetic masterpiece for each week of the month, hence the name.

There’s no denying that it’s getting cold,
But in this country…that news is old.
Gaza’s healthcare system is in a state of collapse,
Considering all that’s going on there, we can only pray that the situation doesn’t relapse.
There’s only two weeks left of October,
But we’re already wishing for it to be over.
Meanwhile Rishi Sunak’s new nickname is making headlines,
Which contradicts his visit to Israel, but then again is anyone reading in between the lines?
Storm Babet is unfortunately ushering us into the weekend,
Hopefully by then, we’ll be celebrating its end.
