Jamie Webster Releases Powerhouse New Single ‘Going Out’
After topping the newly formed UK Official Folk Album Charts last year with his debut album We Get By, Liverpool born singer-songwriter Jamie Webster has continued to surpass expectations and create more music for his eager fans with his latest single Going Out. Â
Feverishly energetic and unforgivingly honest, the lyrics feature all the emotions of a young twenty- something confined to their own four walls in an incomprehensible new reality.Â
Synonymous with the football anthems that propelled Webster’s career in 2018, Going Out has all the features of a stadium ballad. Powerhouse choruses with everyday inspired lyrics are met with layered vocals and the all-familiar, underlying warm tones of Webster’s acoustic guitar driving straight into the hearts of his loyal grassroots following.Â
With that being said, it’s the weighty, honky tonk-esque piano opening the track which gives Going Out its subtle melancholic personality and sets it aside from Webster’s previous releases.Â
The accompanying music video reflects both the lyrics and dynamics of the track, revealing a hyped-up crowd at a prior home city show at The Guild Of Students when the song reaches its chorus. Â
Going Out is the second release from Webster’s upcoming album Moments, his second release with UK label Modern Sky Records. Days Unknown, the debut single from the album was released in August.Â
A step up from Days Unknown, Webster describes Going Out in his own words as bigger and better, and a song that doesn’t compromise for a second to try and claim popularity over principles.Â
Webster’s latest creation joins the likes of Gerry Cinnamon and Jake Bugg who hone their craft with lyrics inspired by the familiarity of every-day life, resonated through voices all the more charismatic in the representation of their home cities. Webster’s adaptation is reflected in a unique sound that combines folk instrumentalism with the vigor of a packed gig. Â
You can catch all that energy and more at one of Webster’s three homecoming dates at Liverpool’s Eventim Olympia as part of a forthcoming UK & Ireland Headline Tour ahead of the album’s release.Â
Remaining tickets for all of Jamie Webster’s forthcoming shows are available here.Â
