Brad Stank Shares ‘Breathing Like a Baby’ Ahead of Album Release
Having announced his debut album Kinky Om will be released on the 5 June, alt-pop libertine Brad Stank has shared second single, Breathing Like a Baby, featuring American rapper Ryshon Jones.
Breathing Like a Baby captures Brad finding his centre through the spirit guide of creativity, allowing him to process events and massage the pain following the loss of close friends. After a long period of self-imposed exile; meditating like a guru in the dojo of soul, the single follows its predecessor Kinky Visitation as typical of Brad’s upcoming reflective and most complete body of work to date.
He has been hailed for his unique musical style which has been described as a blend of lounge lizard jazz and smoky blues. He’s won fans at i-D, Complex, NTS, Clash, Pitchfork’s So Good playlist and played support slots with Clairo, Gus Dapperton, Her’s, The Orielles, as well as impressing the UK’s most trusted ears in Huw Stephens at Radio 1, and Lauren Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft at BBC 6.
Brad’s music is perfect for relaxation and meditation; it’s philosophical and beautifully compossed. The track samples Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti who addresses how humans have created God through worship and thought, as Brad explains: “the better part of you IS God, he says, which has been my stance on spirituality for a while.”
If you’re looking to add something new and refreshing to your playlists then we’d suggest you raid Brad Stank’s back catalouge now and prepare yourself for the 9-track album, Kinky Om, coming on 5 June.
