Treat The Evertonian In Your Life At Unique Pop-Up Christmas Market
This Sunday (15 December), Everton Disabled Supporters Association will host a Christmas market at Metquarter, offering a wide selection of unique gifts made by talented Everton creatives perfect for blues this Christmas.
Running from 11am – 4pm on Sunday at Metquarter, visitors can come along to the market which will take place in a unit on the ground floor of the centre to browse items including artwork, mugs, t-shirts, coasters, caps and much more all made by local independent makers. There will also be an opportunity to purchase an EDSA 30th anniversary pin badge, with all proceeds raised from the sales of the badges going to EDSA.
Local creatives joining the market include Everton illustrator The Bluedoodler (@mrbluedoodler) who will sell hand drawn and crafted Everton FC merchandise including mugs, coasters, badgers, t-shirts and prints. Freelance photographer Laura Gates (@lauragatesphoto) who specialises in capturing the unique matchday atmosphere experience at Goodison Park will be at the market selling everything from professional photographic prints, mugs, coasters and magnets to photobooks and wall calendars.
Another unique seller will be Toffee Art (@toffeeart), the one-stop Toffee Shop for Everton fans with everything professionally designed by hand. They will offer Kitmas tree decorations, kit bottle openers, coasters, clocks, mugs, matchday postcards, cufflinks, key rings and Everton Subbuteo figures at the market.
Liverpool based freelance graphic designer Will Goss (@gosssart) will sell everything from framed Goodison Park models and artwork to Everton themed Christmas ornaments – perfect for adding the festive touch to any toffee household!
Mersey Memorabilia (@merseymemorabilia) will have authentic Everton and boxing memorabilia for sale and there will also be a unique opportunity for fans to get a picture with a replica of the FA Cup.
Founded in 1994, the charity works to enhance and improve match day experiences for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions at Goodison and beyond. Run by a small team of volunteers, the Everton Disabled Supporters Association works together with Everton Football Club to ensure they are working towards their mission to provide a safe and social environment for all members.
Carmel McLoughlin, co vice chair at ESDA said: “This year, we wanted to do something different for our EDSA Christmas event and highlight the amazing talent of Everton creatives. Sadly, our planned event at St Luke’s church had to be cancelled due to flood damage in the hall. Since hearing about our plight, the team at Metquarter have stepped in and helped us every step of the way. We are sure now, with their assistance, this event will be spectacular for our members and all Evertonians who are looking for special gifts this Christmas.”
Jennina O’Neill, Centre Manager at Metquarter said “We are delighted to be able to give the Everton Disabled Supporters Association a place to host its Christmas market. There will be some incredible local sellers on the day, and we can’t wait to welcome shoppers into the centre for the pop-up. It’ll be the perfect opportunity for visitors to pick up gifts for all the Evertonians in their lives!”
