Three Days of Street Festivals and Waterfront Fun Returns To Liverpool This Summer
Liverpool is gearing up to celebrate the return of summer with a special trio of events across the city centre this August, bringing together street entertainment, live music, food, workshops, and family-friendly activities.
Kicking off on Sunday 3 August, Celebrating Castle Street invites visitors to enjoy giant chess boards linked to the British Chess Championships inside the Town Hall, alongside lively street performances including face painting, stilt walking, and three music stages. Exchange Flags will host a market and creative workshops, while local food and drink venues offer special treats. Highlights include performances by Batala Mersey and a day-long Silent Disco Tour.
Two weeks later, on Sunday 17 August, Celebrating Bold Street takes over the vibrant street with a giant tortoise puppet, stilt walkers, and tie-dye sock workshops. Music will focus near the top of the street, featuring the return of the Albert Schloss brass band. The Bombed Out Church will host a Makers Market with exclusive offers and tastings from local businesses, alongside DJ sets and hands-on workshops.

The season wraps up on Saturday 30 August with The Last Day of Summer at Royal Albert Dock and surrounding areas, focusing on health, wellness, and family fun. Free yoga and Pilates classes, sound baths, and Wyld Sauna sessions will take place alongside canoe taster sessions, bike workshops, circus skills, and a 9-hole crazy golf course. For children, there are creative workshops including pencil case making, tie-dye, and old-fashioned fair games like the coconut shy. Street animation and live music will enliven Mann Island and Pier Head, creating a festival atmosphere for all ages.
Abbie Skelton from the Black Cat Club, a new venue launching during Celebrating Castle Street, said: “It’s the perfect way to introduce Black Cat Club and bring fresh energy to Castle Street, one of Liverpool’s most iconic destinations.”
Sean Morrison, CBRE Estate Manager at Royal Albert Dock, added: “We’re excited to host the Last Day of Summer, showcasing the dock’s unique setting with an unforgettable day full of creativity, performance, and great food and drink.”
Liverpool residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come out and enjoy the city’s vibrant culture, welcoming the sunshine with three days packed full of entertainment and community spirit.
