Things to do in Liverpool

Festive Magic Blooms at Strawberry Field with Christmas Events, Concerts & Family Fun

The Salvation Army’s much-loved visitor attraction, Strawberry Field Liverpool, has announced a heart-warming Christmas calendar packed with festive events, activities, and gift ideas running from November 22 through to Christmas.

The celebrations begin on Friday 22 November with the annual Christmas Craft Fair, showcasing some of Liverpool’s most talented local makers. Visitors can browse handmade gifts, seasonal decorations, and artisan treats — perfect for ticking off that Christmas list. There’ll also be a selection of Christmas gifts available to buy both in-store and online, with a handy gift guide available via the Strawberry Field website.

Music lovers can look forward to the return of the annual charity concert, “Celebrating Christmas with Strawberry Field and All Hallows,” on Friday 29 November at All Hallows Church. Hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Paul Beesley, the concert will feature performances from Liverpool Walton Salvation Army Band and All Hallows Choir, with proceeds supporting both All Hallows Church’s 150th anniversary and Steps at Strawberry Field, which helps young adults overcome barriers to employment.

From 30 November to 23 December, guests can enjoy a new festive menu at the Imagine More Café, complete with indulgent dishes such as a loaded turkey croque monsieur, cheeseboards, and festive hot chocolates — all served with a view of the tranquil gardens.

Music fans are in for another treat on Thursday 4 December, when Strawberry Field hosts “The Songs The Beatles Gave Away: An Evening with Colin Hall and Mark Pountney.” The event explores the hidden gems of The Beatles’ songbook — the hits and demos written by Lennon and McCartney but never released by the band. Tickets (£10) include Christmas-themed nibbles and a winter warmer welcome drink.

On Wednesday 17 December, the site will stage its first-ever “Knitivity”, a creative retelling of the Nativity story through music, storytelling, and a charming knitted cast of characters. The family-friendly event offers a joyful and imaginative way to celebrate the season.

To round off the celebrations, Father Christmas himself will visit Strawberry Field on Tuesday 23 December for festive storytelling. Families can enjoy stories told by Santa over hot chocolate and cookies, with tickets (£10 per child) including a special goody bag.

Visitors looking to learn more about the site’s history and John Lennon’s connection to Strawberry Field can also take advantage of 10% off admission when booking online 24 hours in advance.

Tickets for all Christmas events and experiences are available now via the Strawberry Field website.
