Ignite Padel Announces Third Liverpool Site – Speke Centre Set to Open December 2025

A brand-new state-of-the-art padel centre is set to open in Speke this December, marking the third site from Liverpool-based company Ignite Padel. The new venue will feature championship-level facilities, including six indoor and four outdoor covered courts, designed to host both elite competitions and community-focused activities.

Ignite Padel, which opened its first site on Queens Drive in April 2025 and its second at Cheshire Oaks in September, continues its rapid expansion across the North West. The Speke development was originally planned to include 12 courts, but the team made the decision to reduce this number to 10 to create more space for spectators and local community use.

Partner Thomas Lawton explained: “We initially looked at building 12 courts but had a change of heart for several reasons. We wanted to create a better viewing experience for major tournaments with the FIP (International Padel Federation), and to ensure the centre can also serve as a hub for academy training and local community events. Our aim is for the Speke site to eventually operate 24 hours a day, though initially it will run from 6am to midnight.”

Like the Cheshire Oaks site, the Speke venue will feature a licensed bar and a specialist coffee shop showing live Sky Sports and TNT Sports coverage, along with a retail store where players can purchase racquets, balls, and clothing. Coaching sessions will be available for all abilities, from beginners to advanced players.

Partner Stephen Broad added: “Our courts are imported from Spain and built to championship standard, LTA-approved for quality and performance. Indoor play offers a truer game, free from weather interference, and attracts many of the sport’s elite players.”

To enhance the social side of the sport, Ignite Padel also runs the North West’s largest padel WhatsApp community, connecting players to find open matches and form instant playing partnerships. Join the community here.

Co-founder Chris Watson said the company’s growth is also contributing to local employment: “By the time this site opens in December 2025, we’ll have created around 40 full and part-time jobs since our first opening in April. As a Liverpool-born business, we’re proud to be growing the sport and creating new opportunities across the region.”

Now recognised as the world’s fastest-growing racquet sport, padel – a blend of tennis and squash – continues to capture the imagination of players across the UK. With its third site on the way and plans to reach five locations within 12 months, Ignite Padel shows no signs of slowing down.

Ignite Padel Speke is set to open December 2025, with the exact launch date to be confirmed soon. For more information visit ignitepadel.co.uk. Follow @ignitepadeluk for updates.
