Sophie Ellis-Bextor Brings ‘Perimenopop’ Tour to Liverpool This September

Pop icon and disco queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced a special run of intimate record store shows and signings across the UK to celebrate the release of her much-anticipated eighth studio album Perimenopop, out 12 September via Decca Records. Liverpool fans can catch Sophie live on Tuesday 9 September at The Dome at Grand Central, as part of her Record Store Tour.

The tour follows her headline album launch show at London’s KOKO on 8 September and includes a mix of in-store performances and signing events in cities including Manchester, Oxford, Brighton, and Kingston. The Liverpool date is one of a handful of performance-led appearances, with tickets on sale now.

Described as “a playful celebration” of where Sophie is in her life, Perimenopop sees a confident return to her signature disco-pop roots. The album features recent singles Freedom of the Night, Relentless Love, Vertigo, and Taste — the latter co-written with MNEK and Jon Shave (Charli XCX, Sugababes). Fans can expect a glittering mix of dancefloor anthems and feel-good pop that leans into Sophie’s 25-year career as one of the UK’s most beloved pop stars.

Sophie rose to global fame in the early 2000s with hits like Murder on the Dancefloor, which saw a remarkable resurgence in 2024 after being featured in the closing scene of the film Saltburn. The track soared to #2 in the UK Singles Chart and became the biggest hit of 2024 by a British female artist, with over 13 billion global streams across platforms. Sophie even rang in 2025 with a live performance in Times Square for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Beyond her chart success, Sophie has had a jam-packed couple of years: performing at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, touring across Europe and the US, supporting Take That and Nile Rodgers, and completing a sold-out UK headline tour including a night at London’s Royal Albert Hall. She also continues to host her BBC Radio 2 show Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco, based on her viral lockdown performances, and released her first cookbook with husband Richard Jones last year.

Tickets for Sophie’s Liverpool show at The Dome at Grand Central are expected to sell fast, offering fans the chance to experience her vibrant new material in an intimate setting.
