KingFast Returns With Introspective New Single ‘Chains’

Liverpool artist KingFast returns with Chains, a soulful R&B release that leans into introspection while showcasing the warmth and depth of Paul Walker’s unmistakable vocal style.

Built around a smooth, emotive groove, Chains explores the quiet realisation that the barriers we blame on circumstance are often the ones we create ourselves. The track feels both personal and universal, capturing the internal dialogue that many listeners will recognise.

As Walker explains: “I have just noticed that people (definitely myself included) often get in their own way. The song is about how we say we have confines that hold us back but our biggest restraint is often ourselves. The riff came after I had that idea and then it all fell into place really naturally. I’m really happy with how it has come out.”

That sense of natural flow comes through in the finished track. The understated production gives Walker’s voice room to shine, allowing the emotion at the heart of the song to take centre stage. His delivery is effortless yet deeply expressive, drawing the listener into the track’s reflective mood.

The chorus line “We’ve all got our own chains” anchors the song’s message, while lyrics such as “No one holds me back more than myself” underline the honesty that makes Chains resonate. It’s a theme KingFast continues to explore with sincerity, offering listeners both comfort and quiet motivation in recognising shared struggles with self-doubt.

As with previous releases, KingFast demonstrates an ability to balance vulnerability with musical polish, creating R&B that feels both contemporary and timeless. Chains is another strong step forward, highlighting not only the strength of Walker’s voice but also his growing confidence as a songwriter unafraid to look inward.
