Keyside Return with Heartfelt Anthem ‘Rock My Love’
Liverpool four-piece Keyside return with one of their most emotionally charged and musically uplifting singles yet. Rock My Love is a track rooted in hardship, told through the lens of redemption, and wrapped in contagious melodies that belie the darkness at its core. It’s a beautiful contradiction — one Keyside have fast become masters of — and it cements their rise as one of Merseyside’s most powerful new storytelling bands.
Drawing on deeply personal experiences, Rock My Love sees the band explore the reality of hitting rock bottom, battling addiction, feeling directionless, and discovering a way back through the act of creating. It’s a theme that lives at the heart of Keyside’s songwriting — socially conscious stories presented through shimmering guitars, intricate riffs and poetic lyricism.
Their knack for pairing painful truths with crowd-lifting melodies places them somewhere between the gritty realism of The La’s and the 80s pop brightness of The Cure, a baton the band proudly and naturally carries forward.
Frontman Dani-Lee Parker describes the song’s protagonist as someone “struggling with addiction and unemployed, but she finds a way to live again through a love of photography,” a narrative pulled partly from his own life and the salvation he found in writing and music. It’s this balance — vulnerability blended with earnest hope — that gives the single its emotional weight and resonance.

Even early live plays have sparked messages from fans who’ve connected personally with its lyrics, particularly the devastating line “I cried on the 4th of November” and the stories it echoes for them.
Rock My Love arrives as Keyside embark on their first major UK headline tour, a huge milestone following two years of graft: small venues, support slots, festival appearances and breakthrough moments like BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and supporting Red Rum Club and The Wombats. Many dates on the run — including Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol and London — have already sold out, while their homecoming at the Liverpool O2 Academy was snapped up long ago, signalling just how rapidly their audience is growing and how deeply the songs are connecting.
The single follows their February EP Michael (What’s Your Call?) and their summer release If You Don’t Try, rounding off what has been a landmark year for the band. There’s a sense that Rock My Love is both a closing chapter and a line in the sand before Keyside step into something bigger — more ambitious, more assured, yet still anchored in the humility and honesty that define them.
With Rock My Love, Keyside prove once again that they’re not just writing songs — they’re writing lifelines. Stirring, melodic and unflinchingly human, it’s a track that leaves the room brighter than it found it, even as it carries the weight of difficult truths.
If this is the final word on their 2025, it’s one delivered with clarity, craft and an unmistakable sense of momentum.
