Liverpool’s Lu Ban Restaurant Targets Gold In VisitEngland Awards For Excellence 2022
Liverpool’s Lu Ban Restaurant is up for one of the biggest awards in tourism having been chosen as a finalist for the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022.
The iconic Chinese restaurant, located in Cain’s Brewery in the city’s vibrant Baltic Triangle, is competing against Fischer’s Baslow Hall, Derbyshire and Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, Lancashire for the Taste of England Award.
Lu Ban, which specialises in regional Chinese dishes, is in exclusive company just 45 finalists across 15 categories are invited to the glitzy tourism awards ceremony, which is being held in Birmingham on Wednesday 8 June.
All of the finalists have been handpicked by tourism industry experts from more than 300 entries to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 comprising of local winners from the 14 aligned competitions which have been running across England.
Lu Ban claimed its place after being named Restaurant of the Year at the recent Liverpool City Region Tourism awards. The restaurant also won the Resilience and Innovation award.
Lu Ban executive chef director Dave Critchley said: “To reach the national finals of the VisitEngland tourism awards is just incredible – and certainly not something we expected.
“It’s a credit to everyone involved in the restaurant. We’re proud to be representing the city and can’t wait to find out the result!”
