Part of Liverpool’s Italian Quarter, Antonietta is known for serving award-winning gelato and exquisitely handmade celebration cakes, pastries, croissants and desserts, having created Italian delicacies in the city for over 10 years.
Antonietta has been refining her skills in the art of pastry and gelato making since she was just 16, spending time at various colleges in Italy like the renowned l`etoile of Chioggia. After becoming a maestro gelataio by studying the chemistry of various gelato ingredients, Antonietta trained under Italy’s best pastry chef Gino Massari where she learned the art of cake decorating.
Even now, every year, Antonietta travels to Italy to attend courses and learn the latest techniques to perfect her craft.
Antonietta’s dream was to open her own cake store and decided to move into her very own cake lab within her family’s business within the Italian Quarter.
Panettone is the Italian symbol of abundance, joy and togetherness and Antonietta and the team have over 1,000 panettone orders to fulfil this Christmas!
A renowned Italian masterpiece, Gran Caffe’s variety of panettone flavours ensure there’s something to suit everyone; from a beautiful classic panettone with candied fruit and plump raisins, as well as luxury chocolate, luxury white chocolate and red fruits and luxury pistachio panettone complete with pistachio cream. Or there’s also the baker’s newest addition; luxury coffee panettone filled with coffee cream made with real Italian coffee and topped with a luxury coffee glaze.
Each and every traditional Italian sweet bread is meticulously crafted and hand baked, in-house by Antonietta and her talented pastry team, made from her very own family recipe. For a traditional Italian holiday experience, the classic panettone (£28) is a must, or for more indulgent and creaminess, Antonietta’s luxury chocolate (£30), white chocolate and red fruits (£30) pistachio (£36) or coffee (£30) flavours are a must to leave a lasting impression and guarantee the festive spirit around the dinner table.
By following traditional methods and using the finest ingredients, Antonietta brings the rich history of panettone and Italian traditions to life.
The full process for the dough requires more than 48 hours of proving and the ingredients selected are key in creating only the finest panettone from organic eggs, to high-quality flour that is imported from Italy, and the PH of water used is also an essential part of the recipe to ensure that everything comes together perfectly.
