Liverpool Outdoor Dining Guide
Lockdown restrictions will be changed in England from 12 April 2021 allowing hospitality venues to open their outdoor seating areas. Under the rule of 6, people will be able to eat and drink with table service only. Here’s our guide to Liverpool outdoor dining. Now all we need is some good weather.
We recommend you check with each venue before your visit to make sure they are open and if you need to book in advance or just turn up.
Royal Albert Dock
There’s plenty of outdoor seating at The Royal Albert Dock, with the likes of Madre, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Maray, Gusto, Revolution, Revolution de Cuba, What’s Cooking, Turncoat Bar and many more extending their outdoor seating to satisfy your food and drink cravings.
Bacaro
Bacaro, Castle Street have added an outdoor seating area so you can enjoy their Italian inspired small plates menu.
Back Yard
Back Yard is a new, all-day venue inspired by West Coast America, where it’s all about Tacos, Cocktails & Carefree Vibes. Backyard LA Meets San Diego Beer Garden, in Wolstenholme Square.
Baltic Market
The Baltic Market are opening their outdoor seating area 14 April. There’s no booking system so just turn up.
Birdies
Birdies will be brining plenty of entertainment to their outdoor space, with live music, live sports, quiz nights and movies at the ready. Book now via the website birdiesbars.com
Botanical Garden
Our favourite gin haven, the Botanical Garden, will be open for walk in’s only from 12 April, 7 days a week (weather permitting).
Brewdog
The Bridewell
The Bridewell will also be opening on 12 April and is walk in’s only.
Buyers Club
The Buyers Club beer garden is a lovely hidden gem, perfect for enjoying a few drinks and experiencing their beautiful food menu.
Clockworks
Clockworks is a real hidden gem, with amazing food and a lovely outdoor space. We wouldn’t mind spending all summer here.
The Club House
We’ve spent many a sunny afternoon at The Club House’s beer garden. Catch some sun and enjoy their amazing food and drinks menu while you’re at it.

Crazy Pedro’s
Crazy Pedro’s will be serving up Bottomless pizza and booze from the 12 April, which you can book here. Or just turn up for walk in drinks and pizza heaven.
East River
From Wednesday 14 April, East River on Allerton Road is opening it’s secret garden. Open 10am – 6pm everyday, you can DM them or call them on 0151 724 6803 to book, or just head down there for walk in’s.
Free State Kitchen
Free State Kitchen’s Garden has the perfect outdoor set up so that you can soak up the sun while tucking into a burger and fries.
Future Yard
A special shout out to Future Yard, over the water. The music venue is opening an outdoor space where you can enjoy a coffee, a cool glass of Future Yard Pilsner and some tasty street food.
Heritage
Heritage, Castle Street is sure to be a popular spot with diners seeking out their small plates menu and fantastic drinks selection.
Kazimier Garden
Kazimier Garden is a strong contender for one of our favourite outdoor spaces in the city anyway so the addition of a new food trader offering both vegan and meat-eater options, we’ll be heading down asap.
The Merchant
Look out for the Parr Street Block Party 16 – 18 April with The Merchant closing off Parr Street from Friday to Sunday with a host of DJs, Drinks & Delicious Street Food.
Ma Boyles
Ma Boyles boasts great views of St Nick’s Church right next to the Royal Liver Building. Book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
Maluco
Another sunny Castle Street spot, serving up delicious pizzas and some of the best cocktails in town. Opening from Friday 16 April.
Pattersons
Pattersons aren’t about to miss out on the outdoor dining fun, they’ve overhauled their rooftop to create a perfect hang out spot to enjoy their chicken and tunes.
The Quarter
Not only does The Quarter serve some of the best food in the city, their outdoor seating area is one of the prettiest. Relax in the surroundings of The Georgian Quarter and you might just forget you’re in Liverpool.
Papillon
If you can’t get a table at The Quarter, then you can’t go wrong by trying their neighbour, Papillon. Another beautiful venue with lovely seating.
PINS
The PINS rooftop was made for summer cocktail sipping and wood fired pizzas. There’s plenty of seating and it’s walk in’s only.
Punch Tarmey’s
There will be plenty of live entertainment in Punch Tarmey’s courtyard from Monday 12 April. Check out their Facebook page for all the details.
Secret Garden at Calderstones Park
The Secret Garden at Calderstones Park is open for outdoor dining every Thursday – Sunday throughout April and May. Choose from a specially crafted menu of homemade burgers, pizzas, pasta and Scouse, plus much more.
