Liverpool City Council and Knowsley Council have announced an event to showcase education and employment opportunities for young people with SEND. The free event will explore post-16 education, training and employment for young people aged 14–24 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families in Liverpool and Knowsley.
Hosted by Liverpool City Council and Knowsley Council, the Supported Internship and Inclusive Learning Marketplace brings together colleges, and specialist services to showcase the diverse learning and employment pathways that help young people move confidently into adulthood, further education, and paid work.
Cllr Joanne Kennedy, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment & Skills, said: “This event is a wonderful opportunity for young people with SEND and their families to explore the many inspiring pathways available as they prepare for adulthood. Every young person deserves the chance to develop their talents, gain confidence and move towards meaningful employment or further study.”
The event will be held at the Adelphi Hotel (side entrance on Brownlow Hill) on Thursday 26 March, 4.30pm – 7pm. Anyone wishing to attend can just drop in on the day – there’s no need to book. The event is wheelchair accessible and a quiet area will also be provided for those who need it. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
