Autism Initiatives Charity Starts 2026 On Cloud Nine With Ninth Walk for Autism
Registration for Walk for Autism 2026 is now open! Autism Initiatives welcomes participants to join the challenge and fundraise for autism projects and services across Liverpool and the wider UK.
Autism Initiatives charity has started the year on cloud nine, as the team gets set for the ninth year of Walk for Autism. The charity’s annual fundraising challenge will step into action on 26 March and come to a finish on World Autism Acceptance Day, 2 April.
Walk for Autism UK invites all ages and abilities to walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days, encouraging participants to walk their steps wherever they choose.
The fundraising challenge strives to be an inclusive way to raise important funds and to keep fit as the spring season starts.
The charity’s projects and services cover Merseyside and wider areas of England, as well as the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Wales. This year, Autism Initiatives is expanding its services across the city, aiming to offer more accessible support to autistic people and their families in Liverpool.
Each year, Walk for Autism allows Autism Initiatives to continue funding autism projects across the UK. In 2025, the Walk for Autism challenge raised an impressive £586,000 thanks to everyone who took part or showed their support.
Previous funds have been used to take on specialist staff with a focus on wellbeing, open more services for greater accessibility, and to fund work experience opportunities at social enterprises.
Participants who raise at least £20 will be sent a fantastic Walk for Autism t-shirt by the fundraising team. Plus, there’s the opportunity to earn more rewards while making a difference.
Fundraising milestone rewards include: medals, wristbands and the famous Fundraising Legend title! Could you take the crown this year?
