KingFast Releases Impressive EP ‘ We Only Kill Evil’

Paul Walker – aka rising Liverpool soul-pop sensation KingFast – has burst back onto the scene with brand new EP We Only Kill Evil. This follows the July track Dadadadada! and earlier single Praises, our review of which you can read here.

Released on 2 December, We Only Kill Evil – the project’s title being an acronym for the term ‘woke’ – sees KingFast deliver commentary on current socio-political climate through a personal and intimate lens.

Particular standouts on the EP include tracks Toe The LineEmpathy and Blame the Victim, the latter incorporating broadcast excerpts reporting on protests in US cities in the wake of the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement.

The EP’s sonic palette is primarily built around rhythmic acoustic guitar and drum machine grooves, electric piano and hazy harmonies. The minimal, lo-fi production leaves ample room for his passionate vocal delivery, and intricate lyrical content, to hold the listener’s focus.

KingFast has delivered a solid project with his debut EP, his distinctive falsetto vocals and ear for fantastic, earworm melody-writing shining brightly as ever in these new tracks. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on as he continues to evolve his sound and provide fresh musical experiences for fans.
