Liverpool PT Harriet McGuffie To Host Menopause Morning, Marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Renowned Liverpool personal trainer, Harriet McGuffie, is hosting a powerful Menopause Morning on Saturday 11 October, suitably held during Breast Cancer Awareness month.
From 9.30am until 1.30pm, guests will be taken on a journey of education to empower as many women as possible to evolve the way they look at their health through the decades.
With incredibly knowledgeable speakers taking to the panel to discuss their areas of expertise, the Menopause Morning falls in line with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and includes powerful messages about female health including how to combat the effects of menopause, whilst providing an opportunity for women to ask questions from industry experts and receive factual information.
Harriet, who has over 25 years of experience in the health industry with running her own fitness studio on Woolton Road, will offer expert insight into the changes women’s bodies go through during menopause, how to train best based on different side effects of menopause and take care of yourself from inside out.
Alongside Harriet, there will be five other incredible speakers that are experts in their fields; Dr Hoyle, an experienced NHS GP and aesthetics doctor with a special interest in women’s health and the menopause. She has completed the British Menopause Society Menopause Certificate and is currently working towards her Advanced Certification, further deepening her expertise in supporting women through this important stage of life.
In addition to her medical qualifications, Dr Hoyle is trained in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for menopause symptoms, offering a holistic approach that addresses both the physical and emotional challenges women may face.
Margaret Bell is a trailblazer in women’s health, combining 47 years of cooking experience with a deep expertise in gut and hormonal health. Known as the retreat chef for Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival, Margaret’s food has delighted celebrities and wellness leaders with its balance of flavour, nourishment and hormone-friendly ingredients.
At the Menopause Morning, Margaret will deliver a talk and demo created especially for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. She’ll explore the link between gut health, declining hormones, and inflammation, as well as why joint pain and changing digestion often appear at this stage of life.
Margaret will then provide useful insight into how simple shifts in diet can ease symptoms and boost energy and reveal the truth about the so-called “menopause muffin” and other myths.
Delivering a live cooking demo, she’ll also invite a few guests to cook alongside her, creating a quick, easy and hormone-supportive dish using ingredients that are readily available, showing how small changes in the kitchen can create big changes in everyday health.
Also featuring on the panel is Sarah Norris, a specialist physiotherapist in advanced pelvic health, based at The Physiotherapy Centre in Liverpool. She is passionate about empowering women through all stages of their lives including menopause, treating many women in her clinics every day, focusing on a wide range of conditions and helping women regain confidence and improve their quality of life.
The fourth speaker is Geraldine Mitchell, a fantastic Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and Deputy Medical Director for Surgery at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
Geraldine will be raising awareness of breast cancer, the most common cancer in the UK, delivering a powerful talk on the breast cancer journey from diagnosis, to treatment and beyond. Primarily affecting women over 50, Geraldine’s insight will add a vital element to the event, for women attending to discover how to cope with menopause and the risks of breast cancer, what to look out for and how to seek advice.
The final guest speaker is Elissa Corrigan, founder of Elle Sera, a performance-led supplement brand created for women who demand more from their wellness.
With a background in health journalism and a sharp eye for science, Elissa built Elle Sera from the ground up; self-funded, meticulously formulated, and driven by purpose.
Elissa’s mission is to deliver products that respect women’s time, bodies, and investment, with results that go beyond the label. From the iconic Golden Pill to next-generation collagen, every product reflects her commitment to precision, potency, and proof, setting a new standard for what modern supplements should be and she’ll be sharing her insight with guests, showing women how to support their bodies best.
Harriet, creator of the Menopause Morning, explained: “I’ve been in the health and wellbeing space for over 25 years now and I see so many women each year who are suffering from the effects of menopause or perimenopause. It’s something all women will go through in their lives and I feel so passionate about supporting them in that transition. After all, that’s half of our population!
“From issues with sleeping, to struggling with weight gain, gut health and energy, menopause affects every woman differently and my goal is to bring together industry leaders to provide expert knowledge on how to live healthier, happier and without menopause dominating their lives. I’m so grateful to have such talented speakers and am really looking forward to welcoming all of our guests on Saturday 11th October at my gym on Woolton Road.”
