Spud Bros Opening in Liverpool: Viral Jacket Potato Sensation Coming ‘End of Summer’

If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok recently, chances are you’ve stumbled upon Spud Bros – the jacket potato kings who’ve been serving up buttery, crispy-topped spuds to the masses. With videos regularly clocking up millions of views and fans including none other than Will Smith, Ed Sheeran, and Liam Neeson, it’s no surprise that Spud Bros has become one of the most talked-about food spots in the UK.

Now, after a much-loved appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in the city earlier this year, the viral sensation is officially setting down roots in Liverpool City Centre. Taking over the former Costa Coffee site in Queen Square, the new venue promises to bring their signature blend of comfort food, banter, and internet-breaking content to Merseyside.

From TikTok to Takeover: The Rise of Spud Bros

The Spud Bros story is one of humble beginnings turned meteoric success. Run by brothers Jacob and Harley Nelson from Preston, the duo turned a simple street food stall into a TikTok empire, amassing over 4 million followers thanks to their friendly banter, relatable content, and mouth-watering jacket potato toppings.

Their videos offer a unique POV-style experience, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at customer interactions, hilarious conversations, and of course, those steaming hot spuds loaded with everything from cheese and beans to spicy chicken, coleslaw, and even mac ‘n’ cheese.

They opened Spud Bros Express in London in November 2024, which has been a huge success.

In a recent TikTok announcing the Liverpool store, the brothers wrote: “Still can’t believe it’s happening” – a humble nod to their journey so far and a sign of just how big this next step feels.

Spud Bros Liverpool Store Location Announcement

Why have Spud Bros chose Liverpool?

Liverpool’s buzzing food scene and loyal online fanbase make it the perfect next chapter for Spud Bros. The brothers already have a strong following in the city, with fans flocking to their Big Weekend pop-up back in May. The decision to open a permanent location here shows just how much they value their northern supporters.

What’s more, the Liverpool store is reportedly bigger than their London base, meaning more room for those signature queues and, hopefully, shorter wait times for your potato fix.

What to Expect at Spud Bros Liverpool

While the menu hasn’t officially been released, fans can expect all the classic favourites, served with a side of good vibes and maybe even a cameo from the brothers themselves. Think crispy-skinned jacket potatoes, generous portions of melted cheese, barbecue chicken, creamy coleslaw, and more — all lovingly plated up with the trademark Spud Bros flair.

Expect the space to be Instagram-worthy, buzzing with energy, and primed for viral moments. And yes — there’s a good chance you’ll end up in one of their TikToks if you visit.

When Is Spud Bros Liverpool Opening?

Signage at the Queen Square location is already turning heads, with the teaser “END OF SUMMER 2025” printed boldly across the hoardings. While no official launch date has been announced, fans are already counting down the days and keeping a close eye on @thespudbros on TikTok and @therealspudbros on Instagram for updates.

With the popularity of food pop-ups and viral eateries on the rise in Liverpool, Spud Bros couldn’t have picked a better time – or city – to expand. It’s more than just jacket potatoes; it’s a whole experience.
