Family Fun Coming to The Royal Albert Dock This Half Term
There’s plenty happening down at The Royal Albert Dock this half term. Find out what family-filled activities are happening when and where.
Free Circus Skills sessions
Youngsters aged 6 to 14 can pick up some fun circus skills like plate spinning, juggling, ribbon dancing, and the thrilling aerial hoop and trapeze, with free instruction from the experts in the Grand Hall next to Peaberry Coffee House & Kitchen, as part of the dock’s Feed Your Mind campaign.
Sessions are available across five days during half term from 25th-29th October and bookable on a first come first serve basis, via EventBrite HERE.
Family adventure trail
Quiz loving little ones can pick up a copy of the Family Adventure Trail at Holiday Inn Express, Tate Liverpool, Maritime Museum or The Nest and embark on a dock adventure. Walk to nine numbered attractions, find clues to answer all of the questions, then go to Beatles Story or Magical Mystery Tour office for a badge.
River of Light Trail
The spectacular River of Light trail is coming back from October 22 to November 7, featuring a series of light installations inspired by Liverpool’s musical history with its theme, ‘Rhythm of Light’. The dock is on this year’s trail with ‘Iconic Site’ alongside other works on the waterfront and city centre.
Escape Hunt
Escape Hunt is a great option for a family day out, especially for teens who can be harder to please. There are different immersive experiences to choose from – how about The Fourth Samurai which is an original Escape Hunt game taking you back to ancient Japan? On the orders of the imperial emperor, work as a team and use your skills to defeat the evil warlord!
Wild Shore
Grab a little outdoor adventure while you can, and have a splashing time by taking to the water at Wild Shore. Kids can test their balance with stand-up paddleboarding or take a trip around the dock on one of the pedalos or mini boats. Or, for a real on-the-water challenge, go up against the family on the Aqua Park inflatable obstacle course. Be quick though, it’s only here until October 31st.
Kids make their own pizzas at Gusto
Budding chefs who like to get experimental in the kitchen will love creating their own pizza, loaded with their favourite toppings, at Italian restaurant Gusto. They can pick out flavour combinations from Gusto’s choice of toppings, like chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn and pepperoni, then arrange them in a design and hand them back to the real chefs to pop in the oven.
