Borealis At The Royal Albert Dock (20-30 March)
Taking place along the dock’s Hartley Quay past The Pump House, Borealis will offer a captivating spectacle from 7-10pm, recreating the magic phenomena of the Northern Lights on the dock’s iconic waterfront. With the elements of the weather having the final say on the effects of the artwork, each evening will promise a unique visual experience depending on the wind variations, humidity and temperature.
The evening-only installation will be further enhanced by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, creating a sensory-rich experience that invites visitors to pause, look up, and lose themselves in the wonder of the lights.
Having enchanted audiences in over 40 cities worldwide, including Paris, Tokyo, and Melbourne, Borealis has even earned a permanent home at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay Supertrees. Now, Liverpool will have the chance to witness its magic, with the dock’s striking waterfront serving as the perfect backdrop.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Building will indicate the starting point of the installation, with visitors encouraged to walk along Hartley Quay and marvel at the captivating installation overhead for the optimal viewing experience.
