Shakespeare North Playhouse Unveils Exciting Winter/Spring 2025–26 Season

Shakespeare North Playhouse has announced its winter and spring programme for 2025–26, offering a vibrant mix of theatre, music, film, and community events in Prescot. Tickets are now on sale, with priority booking for supporters from 10 September. Memberships start from just £5 a month, giving audiences first access to tickets while supporting the Playhouse’s year-round work.

Theatre Highlights

Kicking off the season is Jim Cartwright’s acclaimed play TWO, directed by Lisa Allen. Set in a northern pub, the production follows two actors portraying 14 characters over one night, delivering a moving, funny, and sharply observed portrait of working-class life. Lisa Allen said: “TWO is a play rooted in northern life and storytelling. It’s funny, moving and deeply relatable – exactly the kind of theatre we want our audiences to experience here.”

Other theatrical highlights include Puck: A Fairy’s Tale from Riverside Studios, London, Mark Farrelly’s award-winning solo show The Silence of Snow: The Life of Patrick Hamilton, Justin Moorhouse’s brand-new comedy show, The Greatest Performance of My Life, and Our Public House, a heart-warming play with music by best-selling novelist and playwright Barney Norris.

Music and Festivals

Music fans can look forward to Knowsley Music Festival in November 2025, featuring a special performance by Paul Young on the Cockpit Theatre stage.
