In Full Bloom: New Exhibition at dot-art Gallery Explores the Poetry of Flowers
dot-art Gallery will burst into colour this autumn with In Full Bloom, a new exhibition featuring works by Frank Leung, Hilary Dron, and Madeleine Pires. Running from 17 October to 29 November, the show celebrates the beauty, symbolism, and emotional resonance of flowers through three distinctive artistic voices.
Exploring themes of seasonality, vitality, and connection to nature, the exhibition pairs delicate watercolours with dynamic compositions and community-inspired works.
Frank Leung brings a poetic sensibility to his watercolour series, balancing the realistic and the romantic. His delicate brushstrokes convey the rhythm of the seasons, each work subtly linked through colour to reflect the flow of energy across the year.
Hilary Dron’s joyful paintings capture the essence of flowers in full bloom, inspired by chaotic garden borders and overflowing vases. Her layered brushstrokes and vibrant mark-making infuse the works with light, movement, and serenity, expressing flowers as symbols of joy and connection to the natural world.
For Madeleine Pires, flowers bloom both on canvas and in communities. Known for her large-scale murals in Kirkdale and Bootle, including the celebrated Flower Streets project, she uses art to uplift and inspire. Her exhibited works combine realistic and semi-abstract techniques, often drawing from community projects and incorporating poetry, while embodying vitality and her signature spiritual resonance.
All artworks are available for sale throughout the exhibition.
In Full Bloom runs from 17 October – 29 November.
The dot-art Gallery is located at 14 Queen Avenue, Castle Street, Liverpool, L2 4TX, just a short walk from Liverpool ONE. Opening hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pm.
