The 52 for 26 Poetry Project: Celebrating Merseyside’s Poetic Voices

Liverpool Noise, a cornerstone for celebrating Merseyside’s arts and culture, is thrilled to announce its most ambitious literary project yet: 52 for 26! This initiative will shine a spotlight on the region’s incredible poetic talent by publishing a new poem from a local artist every Friday throughout the entire year of 2026. This project is a direct extension of our mission to champion local creativity and provide a valuable platform for artists of all disciplines.

Starting in January 2026, Liverpool Noise aims to feature 52 unique poets from Liverpool and Merseyside. Each weekly post will include not just a poem but also a brief introductory bio of the author, giving readers a chance to get to know the person behind the words. Each poet will also provide up to 100 words of personal commentary on their creative process and the inspiration behind their work, offering a deeper, more intimate connection with the audience. To further foster community and collaboration, social media links for each featured poet will be included in the post.

The benefits for poets involved in this project are numerous. They will receive unparalleled elevated exposure to Liverpool Noise’s dedicated readership, a community that actively supports local arts. Their work will also become a permanent part of the Liverpool Noise online cultural archive, serving as a lasting testament to your contribution to the region’s artistic landscape.

This project will prove to be a valuable addition to the established network of published Merseyside poets, fostering connections among creative peers. And publication on the respected cultural website like Liverpool Noise strengthens a poet’s professional portfolio, which is a massive asset for grant applications, submissions, and other career opportunities.

This initiative is more than just a publishing project; it’s a commitment to solidifying Liverpool Noise’s position as a key supporter of artistic talent across Merseyside. If you’re a poet from the region and want to be part of this incredible celebration of local talent, we invite you to submit your work. We can’t wait to see your submissions and share the rich, diverse poetic voices that make Merseyside’s creative scene so special. Let’s make 2026 a year of poetry!
