New Wellness Hub, Noa Wellness, Opens Featuring Boutique Pilates Studio and Nutrition-Focused Juice Bar

A local entrepreneur has turned her passion for Pilates into a thriving new business with the launch of Noa Wellness Studios, a boutique Pilates studio on Woolton Road, offering a welcoming and personalised approach to fitness and wellbeing.

Founded by Tess Swerdlow, who spent more than a decade working in marketing before retraining as a Pilates instructor, the studio was inspired by her own experience of motherhood and the positive impact Pilates had on her physical and mental wellbeing.

“Pilates gave me a sense of myself back after becoming a mum, which is one of the reasons supporting women through pregnancy and motherhood is such an important part of Noa Wellness” says Tess. “Opening the studio while preparing to welcome a second baby into our family has been a challenge, but it’s also reinforced exactly why I wanted to create this space. I know first-hand how important it is for women to have somewhere they feel supported, understood and encouraged to prioritise their own wellbeing.

Noa caters for all clients, not just those needing pre & post-natal support, by offering Infrared Mat Pilates & Reformer from its beautifully designed boutique studio. With six reformer beds, the studio has been intentionally created to provide a more personal experience than larger facilities, allowing instructors to adapt sessions to individual needs and ensuring clients receive plenty of guidance and support.

The studio caters to a diverse range of clients and offers:

  • Reformer Pilates
  • Infrared Mat Pilates
  • Beginner Reformer Classes
  • One of Liverpool’s few dedicated Men’s Reformer Pilates Classes
  • Pre and Post Natal Pilates
  • Mum & Baby Classes

One of Noa’s standout offerings is its specialist pre and post-natal programme, supporting women from early pregnancy through to motherhood and beyond. Babies are welcome at mum and baby classes, helping remove one of the biggest barriers new mothers face when trying to prioritise their own wellbeing.

The studio also runs a unique Return to Exercise Programme designed specifically for new mums. The course is split into two parts, with one half focusing on core and pelvic floor rehabilitation for mothers, while the second half is dedicated to baby massage. The programme offers valuable time for mums to focus on their own recovery while also creating an opportunity to bond with their baby in a supportive environment.

New Wellness Hub Noa Wellness Opens Featuring Nutrition Focused Juice Bar

All classes are taught by local, fully qualified instructors who share a passion for the fundamentals of Pilates and helping clients build strength, mobility and confidence in a supportive environment.

The studio itself has been designed with calming Scandinavian-inspired interiors, combining clean lines and minimalist styling with warm touches and mood lighting to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

Post-class, visitors can refuel at the next door juice bar, Balance, which is owned by Tess’s partner, David, a highly respected performance chef currently away with England for the World Cup, whose work in elite sport has made him an expert in performance nutrition.

Inspired by the health-focused juice bars of Los Angeles, Balance serves smoothies, protein shakes, freshly pressed juices, matcha, milkshakes and nutritious grab-and-go snacks. Popular menu items include their Glow shake; strawberries, banana, honeyberries, medjool dates, Greek yoghurt & collagen, and their special Cereal Milk Iced Matcha.

This summer, Balance will expand its offering with the launch of a healthy takeaway menu, bringing customers nutritious, chef-created meals designed to be both wholesome and full of flavour. New seasonal smoothie specials will also be introduced, giving customers even more options for healthy eating and drinking on the go.

Noa offers flexible booking options including pay-as-you-go classes and monthly memberships available in four, eight, twelve and sixteen-class packages. New clients can also take advantage of introductory offers including a first mat class for £7, a first reformer class for £13.50 and three reformer classes for £45, allowing them to experience different instructors and class styles before committing.

Looking ahead, Tess plans to expand the timetable in line with demand, host community events and collaborate with local brands and businesses to continue promoting Pilates, wellbeing and community connection.

“We have so many exciting ideas for the future,” says Tess. “Our goal is to create a community where people feel supported, empowered and inspired to invest in their wellbeing. This is just the beginning.”
