Mel C Heads To Liverpool With Intimate Live Shows & Signings

Before she was stadium-filling pop star Sporty Spice, Melanie C was an 18-year-old immersed in the pulse of early ’90s rave culture. That formative experience still runs through everything she does — and it’s front and centre in Sweat, her ninth studio album, landing on 1 May 2026.

To celebrate the release, Mel C heads to Liverpool for a special one-day takeover, bringing fans both an intimate in-store moment and a full live performance later the same evening.

Two chances to catch Mel C in Liverpool

On Friday 1 May, Mel C will appear at The Jacaranda for a performance and signing, offering a rare up-close experience with one of the UK’s most enduring pop artists.

Later that night, she scales things up at Camp and Furnace with a full live performance, expected to blend new material with the high-energy delivery she’s become known for as both a solo artist and DJ.

It’s a unique opportunity to experience two sides of Mel C in one day — from stripped-back connection to full dancefloor release.

A return to the dancefloor

Sweat marks a confident return to Mel C’s club roots. Inspired by her early exposure to rave scenes in Spain, the album leans into euphoric, electronic sounds while retaining the emotional honesty that has defined her solo career.

Lead single Sweat sets the tone — an electro-house track built for movement — while follow-up Attitude delivers a bold, empowering message about self-belief and stepping fully into your power.

Recorded across London, Stockholm and Los Angeles, the album balances escapism with introspection, exploring themes of resilience, heartbreak and renewal — all wrapped in a soundtrack designed for the dancefloor.

From pop icon to club culture mainstay

Since rising to global fame with the Spice Girls, Mel C has carved out one of the most credible and consistent solo careers of any member. In recent years, she’s further cemented her place in dance music culture, becoming a respected DJ on international club circuits and festival stages.

That dual identity — pop icon and club artist — is what makes this new era so compelling. Sweat doesn’t just revisit her roots; it reclaims them.

A global year ahead

The Liverpool shows are part of a wider run of UK in-store appearances before Mel C takes Sweat on a global tour later in 2026, with dates across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia — including major UK shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
