The Lake House Unveils Extensive Improvements With New Management Team At The Helm

The Lake House Waterloo, a scenic hospitality and leisure destination overlooking Crosby Marine Lake, has undergone an impressive transformation under a new management team.

Since the arrival of Managing Director Josh Roberts, Director of Operations Vicki Hanlon, and Business Development Manager Natalie Nixon, the venue has seen a surge in growth, community engagement, and visitor numbers.

Originally opened in 2022, The Lake House has seen a 51% increase in wedding revenue from the previous year and was recently named one of Hitched’s top six wedding venues in the North West. The venue now boasts four refurbished function rooms, 13 hotel suites, and a vibrant restaurant-bar overlooking the lake.

Among the biggest developments is The Lawn — a new outdoor concept featuring al fresco dining huts, street food, and live music, which transforms into a winter wonderland during the festive season. The management team has also launched a reimagined food menu inspired by Mediterranean and Italian flavours, alongside a popular Sunday roast offering.

Financially, the venue’s turnover has risen from £1.5m in 2023/24 to £1.9m in 2024/25, with forecasts to hit £2.3m in the next financial year. Weekly footfall now averages 2,400 guests, spanning families, couples, business groups, and visitors from across Liverpool and beyond.

The Lake House employs up to 80 staff during peak seasons and works closely with Sefton At Work, supporting individuals facing barriers to employment — an initiative that has earned them a Star Employer Award for Outstanding Support in Overcoming Barriers.

Community and environmental efforts are also expanding, including a Bird and Bat Conservation Programme, free events for Woodlands Hospice, and a growing number of family-friendly seasonal activities.

Speaking about the venue’s evolution, Managing Director Josh Roberts said: “Since joining The Lake House, my main focus has been on improving the facilities and its offering, cementing the venue as an exciting hospitality hub in the heart of Crosby. From redeveloped function rooms and The Lawn to new menus and community partnerships, we’re driving growth, creating jobs, and shaping a welcoming destination for everyone.”

With a clear vision and a growing reputation, The Lake House is poised to continue its success story into 2026 and beyond.
