Why Everyone’s Heading to Sensation Rooftop Bar for Sangria & Spritz This Summer

The summer months are perfect for rooftop drinks and once we reach April onwards, one Liverpool rooftop bar and nightclub is the perfect spot for al fresco cocktails.

Sensation, Liverpool’s popular rooftop bar based on Seel Street, doubles its guests and in turn, its sales, come the spring/summer months due to Liverpool’s only sangria and spritz trees, with a choice of Aperol Spritz, Limoncello and Hugo Spritz!

An in demand spot during the winter, Sensation hosts spectacular events including its New Year’s Eve huge countdown to midnight party with a £1000 cash giveaway on the night.

Halloween is another big event, plus Boxing Day and every weekend on the run up to Christmas.

But once the sun comes out, it’s Sensation’s rooftop where everyone gathers for the ultimate summer party vibes.

Aiming to make guests feel as though they’re on holiday, in the summer, Sensation extends its opening days adding Thursdays and Sundays from 4pm until late, and its retractable roof means that whether rain or shine, guests can enjoy their drinks al fresco. There’s also heaters on the rooftop for those nights that get a little breezy.

Sensation bar Liverpool's sangria tree

Welcoming double its guests with thousands partying in the venue each week, Sensation has become renowned for its cocktail trees including portnstar martini, espresso martini, sangria, Aperol Spritz, Hugo Spritz and Limoncello Spritz, as well as, sangria pitchers and prosecco processions for VIPs.

Open every Friday from 5pm-3am and Saturdays 1pm-3am as well as Thursdays and Sundays from 4pm-late, owners Sarah Cavanagh and Yalcin Kizilkaya have recently invested £28,000 into the venue.

Sarah, 32 from Wirral, and Yalcin, 40, who is originally from Turkey but relocated to the UK in 2011, recently took the bar to the next level, investing over £28k, the couple created a new DJ booth, completely transformed the interior with new VIP booth access, additional booths and a design overhaul with a new colour palette, as well as giving the rooftop a makeover.

Sarah explained: “Summer months can be tricky for some venues if they have a lot of indoor space but we see the opposite! The minute the sun is out and we enter the spring/summer months, Sensation gets very busy, and fast. Before we know it, thousands descend on the rooftop bar and club and we double our guests and sales by 50%. The atmosphere is amazing and feels very much like being on holiday. It’s the perfect summer escape in the heart of the city centre.

“Our rooftop overlooks Liverpool and our prime Seel Street location makes it perfect for guests bar hopping or coming for pre or post dinner drinks with our cocktail trees being a must-have throughout summer.”
