Liverpool Hope University Fine Art Degree Show 2025
A Celebration of Emerging Creativity…
There’s something special about June in Liverpool, and it’s not just the promise of the returning sunshine. It’s degree show season—when the city’s art schools throw open their doors and let the creativity spill out into the world. And this year, Liverpool Hope University’s Fine Art Degree Show is shaping up to be a must-see on the cultural calendar.
On Friday 13 June, the Creative Campus will come alive as final-year Fine Art students present the culmination of three years of hard graft, experimentation, and discovery. For many, this will be their first major public exhibition—an exciting, nerve-wracking moment where private studio practice meets public gaze.

The show offers a dynamic platform to showcase work that spans painting, sculpture, installation, digital media, and everything in between. Each piece is the result of deep research, bold thinking, and no small amount of creative soul-searching, culminating in serious statements of intent from a new generation of artists ready to make their mark.
But it’s also a celebration—of individual creativity and collective achievement. Visitors will experience a broad spectrum of ideas and practices, from the deeply personal to the politically charged. The exhibition invites the public, curators, critics, and potential employers to witness the energy and talent emerging from one of the city’s most forward-thinking creative institutions. To quote Tony Smith, the Programme Leader steering the Fine Art course…
“This group of students have consistently toiled in their studios and study spaces to forge artworks in a metaphorical fire of creativity.”

Final year degree shows are also important as they bridge the gap between student and professional. As part of the programme’s emphasis on real-world experience, students manage everything—from curation to installation, from promotion to presentation. It’s a rite of passage that intends to equips them with the tools and confidence to step into the wider art world.
Adding extra weight to this year’s show is the appearance of special guest artist Doktor Karayom. The Filipino provocateur—real name Russel Trinidad—is known for his visceral use of red and distorted human forms across graffiti, sculpture, and design. His work, both playful and macabre, explores spiritual, political, and bodily trauma with unflinching honesty. Karayom’s presence underscores the international scope and artistic ambition of this year’s event, offering students and audiences alike a vivid reminder of the power of fearless, experimental art.
So whether you’re an art aficionado, a curious passerby, or just someone in need of a cultural fix—mark the date. The Liverpool Hope Fine Art Degree Show 2025 promises to provoke, inspire, and above all, celebrate the future of art in the city.
