Live Review: The NONE / METZ At Future Yard
The None. Perfectly precise powerful punching rhythm section. Grey shards of artful sonic violence. The dawning of Dystopia has a soundtrack.
Soul shattering, at times. Between the grey scale variance of volume and sonic malady .
Pinpoint accurate yelps and utterances of disdain and dissent.
I can feel it. Words seem to demand anger, yet asking for intelligence.
Tribal beats melded together chords that resonate rather than seek melody. Chunks of bass, fistbump the fretboard.
Fugazi.
Gang of Four.
Skunk Ananse
Rage against the machine
All live together. On a playlist. With The None.
Tonight, took time to warm up to the room.
Once they locked into their groove and liberated the material from the restraint of sticking to album renditions and jammed and played with the heart and enthusiasm that a band so tight it’s an experience to behold.
I left buzzing and feeling fully charged with the powers of music.
Give thanks…Seek these 2 band’s albums out.
