The luxury hotel will welcome guests to its three dining spaces: Palm Court, brasserie-style restaurant Seaforth and the charming Botanic Tearoom throughout the festive season for exceptional culinary experiences with a winter twist. The beautiful Weightman Suite is available for sit-down dinners and provides the perfect backdrop for private Christmas celebrations.

Botanic Festive Afternoon Tea
Guests can enjoy a mouthwatering Festive Afternoon Tea with mulled wine or Municipal Champagne in the beautiful Botanic Tearoom, where tea sommeliers work to create memorable taste experiences.
The Botanic Festive Afternoon Tea provides a merry makeover to the signature offering with seasonal sandwich fillings of Turkey and Stuffing, Smoked Salmon and Crème Cheese and festive Sausage Rolls. Festive afternoon tea is served with an accompaniment of sweet canapes including Christmas Pudding Choux and a Mince Pie Frangipane with Brandy butter frosting.
All Botanic Tearoom’s scented teas are naturally fragranced with fresh flowers or natural oils to create vivid aromas and timed to perfection using traditional hourglass timers. Afternoon Tea is available Monday to Sunday 12pm – 5pm and priced at £55.00 per person (excludes 25th December).
Seasonal treats at The Seaforth restaurant
The hotel offers a delicious two or three course festive menu in the tranquil Seaforth restaurant, the hotels beautiful British brasserie with a worldly exotic twist, inspired by Liverpool’s historical trade past.
Guests are invited to indulge in a meal like no other, featuring locally sourced ingredients and winter favourites. To start, why not try Celeriac and Truffle Velouté or Confit Chicken and Duck Terrine paired with fig & plum chutney, toasted hazelnuts & tarragon oil.
Lovers of a traditional Christmas dinner rejoice – Roast Turkey Roulade, Confit Potato, Pigs ‘n’ Blankets, Honey Glazed Root Vegetables, Apricot & Thyme Stuffing, and Turkey Jus features on this menu. Other highlights include Pan fried Seabass risotto or Roast Cauliflower Steak.
Diners will be spoilt for choice with mouth-watering desserts including Festive Christmas Pudding with Gingerbread custard & Honey tuile, Treacle Tart, and Classic Rice Pudding.
The festive menu starts from £39.00 per person for two courses and £49.00 per person for three courses, all reservations must be booked in advance. Enjoy this special dining experience until 30 December (excluding 25 December).
Christmas Day at Seaforth
Put your feet up and forget the stress of hosting Christmas Dinner, The Municipal Hotel & Spa are inviting guests to celebrate the special day in the breathtaking Seaforth restaurant.
A six-course Christmas dinner with Municipal champagne on arrival is available for £180.00 per person, £90.00 for children aged 5-12 and £40.00 per person for under 5’s, including a complimentary gift for every child.
Enjoy a selection of culinary delights including Locally Sourced Game or Roasted Butternut Squash Velouté to start. Choose from Pan fried Halibut served with Basil Mash and Langoustine Bisque, Beef Wellington paired with Chateau Potatoes, Braised Carrot, Charred Onion & Red Wine Jus or Butter Roasted Winter Squash for main course.
Sweet treats include Mulled Wine Sorbet, Winter Spiced Sticky Toffee Pudding, Gingerbread & Mince Pie Crème Brulee or Artisan Cheese.
Celebrate Christmas in style with private dining in the Weightman Suite
The Seaforth Festive Menu is also as a private option in the Weightman suite. Named after John Weightman who built the Municipal Building back in the 1860’s, the Weightman suite can hold up 70 guests for a sit-down dinner and is the perfect location for private Christmas celebrations.
Palm Court Bar Library
The magnificent Palm Court sits in the heart of the hotel, providing a sophisticated semi-private location for a Christmas canapes and drinks reception. Nods to the building’s unique past run throughout the space – from intricate clock ornaments and original panelling.
Enjoy delicious canapes with a choice of Festive Sausage Rolls, Pigs in Blankets, Beef Carpaccio served with Truffle oil and Parmesan, King Prawns and Cauliflower with yoghurt, cumin & baba ghanoush.

In the build-up to the festive period, The Municipal will open its doors to guests to experience all things merry and bright with live performances taking place within their gorgeously decorated Palm Court Bar, nestled within the heart of the hotel.
Of the performances taking place, the hotel will be joined by the festive delights brought to guests by the Liverpool Youth Orchestra – made up students from across the Liverpool city region, all of whom are a part of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Brass Band and/or Orchestra.
